Lucky 13 for Bianconi  E-mail
Nicconi became the thirteenth stakeswinner for his sire Bianconi when he won the Wellington Racing Club Stakes at Listed level this afternoon.

Slowly away, Nicconi was allowed to find his balance by jockey Brad Rawiller before launching a strong finishing burst in the straight to win well.

Second was Handsupfordetroit with Miss Scarlatti third.

Rawiller had an explanation for his tardy start.

Rubiton added his 36th individual stakes winner when Flying Ruby (Rubiton-Parkhill's Flyer, by Brigand) scored a 1-length victory in the $120,000 Listed Swettenham Stud Bow Mistress Stakes (1200m) at Tattersall's Park on Saturday. Flying Ruby (passed-in for $57,000 as a yearling at the 2006 Magic Millions Adelaide Sale) now has 6 wins & 5 placings from 15 starts for $225,600 earnings.

Tempest Tost confirmed her status as one of the nation's top three-year-old fillies with a powerful on speed win the $1 million Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions 3YO Trophy (1400m) at the Gold Coast on Saturday, January 10.

The bonny grey daughter of Statue of Liberty held out a gallant Rock Kingdom to win the time honoured feature by a half length to the cheers of Tasmania and her loyal followers.
